The Year of Seeing Clearly is definitely a record of the moment. Eric Maring wrote and recorded it during the 2020-21 pandemic era, drawing largely from songs written and performed for Saturday evening livestreams with his son Leo. Maring and the band (Sunshine) - Eric, Leo, son Julian along with seasoned drummer Steve Fox and bass phenom Dan Griffin - bring heart, cross-generational musicianship, grappling philosophy, and a fresh twist on what songs can mean to the writer, musicians, and listeners especially as we go deep into this era and beyond.
